Forest Bathing

Forest Therapy or

Shinrin-yoku is a Japanese term that means "taking in the forest atmosphere" or "forest bathing."

It was developed in Japan during the 1980s and is now the cornerstone of preventive health care & healing in Japanese medicine.

According to Taoist masters, the scope of trees' energy goes way beyond turning carbon dioxide into oxygen. The trees have the ability to absorb negative energy and transform it into positive. This we can observe through the phenomenon of Earthing/Grounding. Modern-day scientists have proven that there are benefits to be obtained from spending time in nature. The practices of "grounding".

The scientifically-proven benefits of Shinrin-yoku include:

  • Reduced blood pressure

  • Reduced stress

  • Improved mood

  • Increased ability to focus, even in children with ADHD

  • Accelerated recovery from surgery or illness

  • Increased energy level

  • Improved sleep

Just as impressive are the results that we are experiencing as we make this part of our regular practice:

  • Deeper and clearer intuition

  • Increased flow of energy

  • Increased capacity to communicate with the land and its species

  • Increased flow of eros/life force

  • Deepening of friendships

  • Overall increase in sense of happiness

The plant kingdom has been on Earth billions of years longer than the animal kingdom and has wisdom to impart on its adolescent counterparts. Mother Nature is the boss as she is resilient and heals us humans.

When’s we bask in the native EMF of trees, it helps to promote emotional harmony within ourselves, therefore with each other. Find moments in the day where you can be present in nature, take your shoes off, ground your energy.
