Long Live the King: Chadwick Boseman

The young king, Chadwick Boseman, has sadly passed away on August 28th, 2020. Chadwick, only 43 years old, fought a hidden 4 year battle with colon cancer. His death comes just a few months after having secretly married longtime girlfriend, Taylor Simone Ledward.

Known most prominently for his role as the MCU's Black Panther, T'Challa. Chadwick coincidentally passed away on the birthday of Jack Kirby, the co-creator of the Black Panther in Marvel's comics. Before he would sit on the throne as King of Wakanda, Boseman began his acting career as Reggie in the timeless soap opera, "All My Children". Chadwick would go on to perform in numerous tv series for nearly a decade. Eventually landing his first lead film role in 2013, as Jackie Robinson in the biopic, "42". This led Chadwick to star in various other big hit films. 2014's "Get On Up", a musical about the father of soul, James Brown; he played Thoth, God of Wisdom and Death, in the 2016 blockbuster movie, "Gods of Eygpt"; and his thrilling depiction of Thurgood Marshall in 2017's "Marshall". With the release of Marvel's Black Panther in 2018, Chadwick Boseman's regal portrayal of the newly crowned King T'Challa has become a true symbol of inspiration and strength for an entire generation.

"In my culture, death is not the end. it's more of a stepping off point. You reach out with both hands and Bast and Sekhmet, they lead you into a green veld where... you can run forever."

- King T'Challa, the Black Panther
